Kenya – Samburu Village

March 12,

2012

My visit to a local Samburu village was a totally different experience than my visit to a Maasai village in Amboseli. There is no touristy aspect and no one trying to sell you anything. The villages are supported by the Sasaab Lodge and other camps and trusts.

I arrived unannounced with my Maasai guide Danielle and Samuel, a Samburu warrior.  I was able to wonder freely around the camp as Samuel explained their way of life. This subject is worthy of a much longer post but for now I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

    Lionel,
Thanks for sharing your wonderful adventure as it’s unlikely we’ll ever enjoy an experience like this ourselves! Look forward to hearing ALL about the experience. LOVE the cats!

I felt the same way in India. I wanted to adopt them all.
